From the platform for the defense of the creation of marine reserve in Illes Formigues we see that, from our web site, you mentioned, through Carles Font, the demonstration against the project in November.

So we want to encourage you to visit the website http://reservamarinaformigues.org, where we are collecting accessions to the manifesto drawn up by the platform for the creation of the reserve (more than 1100 accessions) and to which the Asociación de Buceo Recreativo of Spain has joined, as you can see.

During these last weeks a heated controversy has been generated over the banning of spear fishing that is incorporated in the draft order about creating the reserve. This proposal has led FECDAS to spread a message very biased that creates confusion among the public, because it mixes truth with lies in relation to prohibited and permitted activities in the reserve.

Despite the work that the ministry is trying to do to agree as much as possible the ministerial order, we disagree on how FECDAS is manipulating the information in order to prevent a ban on spear fishing, which causes us great grief if we take into account that the whole reserve project can be in danger. That would be an ending that, as a society concerned about the future of our marine environment, we can not afford.
